Vic Furman makes an impassioned plea for support of the NG Advantage natural gas transfer facility in the Town of Fenton. Help repel the fractivist invaders!
The Town of Fenton, New York Planning Board will need to see our pro-gas support on Tuesday, September 26 at 6:30 pm. We need to support the Town’s previous decision approving the NG Advantage proposal to establish a natural gas transfer facility there. Given the recent Millennium Pipeline win, with judgment going against Andrew Cuomo’s delay tactics on pipeline water quality certifications, there is another victory to be had in showing NG Advantage community support at this meeting.
I have blogged about this company, its plan and Town Planning Board’s previously granted approval to build a transfer facility in Fenton location. The site is already zoned industrial and surrounded by other commercial and industrial activity. There was no significant local opposition to this transfer station until fractivists Vera Scroggins, Bill Huston and Walter Hang of Ithaca showed up and told the community the project would somehow destroy the area.
These repeat protestors falsely claimed the project would clog Fenton Highways with “bomb trucks” and kill children attending school in another neighborhood, among other sins. Walter Hang, of course, is paid huge sums of money by the Rockefeller family to fight anything to do with natural gas. He came out of the Ithaca woodwork and descended on the people of Fenton using falsehoods and hysteria to cripple much needed ecconomic growth offering high paying jobs and adding to the town, county and school tax base, not to mention the many parts of area that would be able to get access to clean-burning inexpensive natural gas, creating still more jobs and reducing heating costs.
Please come on Tuesday! Every victory, no matter the size, is a step in educating the public to the high cost of paid anti-gas activists and serial protestors who come into small New York communities and fear monger progress to death, then leaving without caring at all. Please attend the Town of Fenton meeting on September 26th at 6:30pm. Help repel the purveyors of misinformation just by showing up to this meeting. The Planning Board needs our support to do the right thing again.
Vic, first of all, the Industrial compressed gas tractor trailers will not stay just in the Industrial zones or areas,
but will travel up to 200 miles through residential areas
passing homes, schools, stores, parks, and therefore, are a prevailing danger.
We’ve had three, compressed gas trailers crash since Feb. of this year…
fortunately, no explosions yet..but drivers were injured so far…and loss of $500,000 trailers in the crashes..
Hundred and more trucks passing in non-industrial areas daily is a nuisance and danger…
Unless you can lift these trucks in the air like a helicopter and plop it down in their destinations….they should not be passing residential areas every few minutes , 24/7….
The People of Fenton and beyond have every right to protest this and work to stop it.
And since you are not on the route or live next to this, I can see how you are not protesting it…
Vera… no explosions a few trucks going in a ditch, look at your statement a truck every few minutes…? By your own account that’s 30 trucks and hour x 24 hours in a day = 720 trucks a day x 7 days a week = 5040 truck a week. 3 trucks since Feb until now = per your statement

Good morning. We just received notice that there is a change of venue for the Town of Fenton Planning Board meeting scheduled for 9/26/17. The meeting will now be conducted at the Port Crane Fire Department 844 NY-369, Port Crane, NY 13833.
This location is right on 369 and across from the entrance to Chenango Valley State Park
