The Shale Gas News, typically, is broadcast live. On the January 7th show (click above), we covered the following new territory (see news excerpts below):

  • 2016: A Rollercoaster Year In Energy. It hasn’t been an easy ride for anyone at any level in our industry. January brought headlines of a drop below $35 per barrel for ‘the first time since 2004’ – not the last time that happened this year, and more firms cutting significant numbers of workers.
  • Rig count shows natural gas industry back on upswing as 2017 dawns. There were 32 oil and natural gas rigs drilling in Pennsylvania at the close of 2016, more than have shown up in Baker Hughes’ weekly tally not only since the beginning of 2016 but also the most since September 2015 as the downturn deepened.
  • The Top Ten Most Insidious Myths About Oil. Essentially, humans emotionally respond to stories.  Myths.  These myths can contain truths, but truth is by no means a requirement.  Most are principally convenient falsehoods.  Myth Creators are ultimately marketers, and they are seeking to sell you something… something that allows them to harness some sort of power over you and others.  If the myth making works to its ultimate end, it creates a value… an unquestioned set of rules that define how you think and what you believe in.
