Lt. Governor Mike Stack Says PA Can Do It All

Lt. Gov. Mike Stack spoke recently about Pennsylvania’s potential to do it all; develop its infrastructure, create jobs and provide high quality education.

Last month we recapped a Think About It event held at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute (LCTI) where we were joined by about seventy-five business leaders, educational professionals, and elected officials to discuss the trends and topics in the energy industry and how they are affecting the Commonwealth.

In addition to several great speakers like Pamela Witmer of UGI Energy Services, Abe Amoros of Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA), Scott Bush with Borton-Lawson, David Taylor with Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association (PMA) and George Stark and Bill desRosiers of Cabot, Lt. Governor Mike Stack also addressed the crowd.

PMA has shared a video they created for their PMA Perspective series of Lt. Governor Stack’s comments from the event. He discussed the need for Pennsylvania to explore the true potential to grow the economy not just through the extraction of natural gas, but by bringing manufacturing companies to the area. He also highlighted the need to tie in educational programs in the Commonwealth to make there is an investment in CTE programs, like LCTI, to create and maintain a skilled workforce which can grow with businesses.

Lt. Governor Stack was very clear in his remarks of the true potential sitting before Pennsylvania:

We want to create jobs, not kill jobs. And we want to create a better business model and not a weaker one while developing energy in of course, there are some catch words that you hear me say, responsible way that is in the long term interests of the Commonwealth and all of its people.
