Carbon County Rises to Defend Its Rights from the DRBC

[Editor’s Note: Carbon County, Pennsylvania, apparently knows a rat when it sees one and is going to defend itself from a takeover of the ship.]

Carbon County, PA is the latest county to join in and support Pennsylvania’s Republican State Senators suing the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) over its ban on hydraulic fracturing.

In a brilliant move aimed at boxing in the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC), two northeastern Pennsylvania State Senators–Gene Yaw and Lisa Baker–along with members of the PA Senate Republican Caucus (27 Senators in all), filed a lawsuit in January against the DRBC accusing the quasi-governmental agency of “taking” the property rights of PA residents without just compensation under the law.

A group of 16 left-wing PA Democrat Senators filed to “intervene” in the lawsuit. The battle lines are drawn. PA counties are lining up to support the Republicans in the lawsuit.

Weymouth Kill Bill Demonstrates Just How Bad Government Has Become

RGGIJim Willis

A bill introduced by Massachusetts Senator-Demagogues Markey and Warren for the purpose of killing the Weymouth Compressor Station provides a pitch-perfect illustration of how utterly dysfunctional our government has become.

Talk about using a sledgehammer to kill a fly. The two U.S. Senators from Massachusetts, Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren and Ed “Lackey” Markey, have reintroduced a bill that would ban the use of compressor stations along natural gas pipelines if those pipelines happen to export some of the gas flowing through them to Canada or Mexico.

Do these idiots understand how much gas is imported and exported with Canada and Mexico every single day? That they propose to shut down all of it, simply so they can shut down a single compressor station in Weymouth, Mass., is sick and twisted…

Vermont Bill for Green Mountain Political Correctness Coming Due?

RGGIJim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

[Editor’s Note: Vermont has been selling green virtue signaling badges for some time and now they realize they may have to buy them all back!]

For years Vermont has made millions of dollars selling Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) to other states–a scam that allows pretentious environmentalists to claim they’re helping out the environment when in fact they still burn the same fossil fuels and biomass (i.e. woodburning) as they always did by paying a fee, a REC, and absolving themselves of feeling bad about it. Think of modern-day RECs like the church selling indulgences in the Middle Ages to absolve you of your sins, or at least lessen the punishment for your sins. RECs are the new indulgences of the post-everything era we live in now. Selling REC indulgences is about to go away for Vermonters, and it may lead to widespread blackouts.

DEP Folds, Yet Again, to Fractivists Opposed to Environmental Progress

RGGIJim Willis

[Editor’s Note: Pennsylvania DEP, under the feckless leadership of Pat McDonnell, is caving to fractivists to frustrate recycling of wastewater!]

In February we told you about a group of radicalized anti-fossil fuelers who raised a stink with the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) over the DEP’s routine, nothing-to-see-here renewal of permits for already-running (with no operational problems) shale wastewater recycling facilities scattered around the state. And just like a cheap suit, DEP Secretary Pat McDonnell folded and caved to antis’ demands to reopen the reissued permits. Over the weekend DEP began accepting the caterwauling of wacko antis and their attempts to smear the shale industry.

DRBC Democrats Support the Steal and Launch Attack on Landowners

[Editor’s Note: Devious demagogic DRBC Democrats launch an attack on landowners to avoid compensating them for gas rights they aim to steal.]

In a brilliant move aimed at boxing in the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC), two northeastern Pennsylvania State Senators–Gene Yaw and Lisa Baker–along with members of the PA Senate Republican Caucus, filed a lawsuit in January against the DRBC accusing the quasi-governmental agency of “taking” the property rights of PA residents without just compensation under the law. Pipelines and Pipeline Injustice As FERC Plays Race Card

RGGIJim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

[Editor’s Note: Pipelines are under attack now by FERC, the agency designed to make sure they happen. It is pipeline injustice via playing of the race card.]

We are so sick of the left and their twisted view of everything! For years we’ve covered a recurring claim from the left in their misguided attempt to smear natural gas and the pipelines that flow it. The left claims every time a pipeline runs near or through an area where the population is African American, or Hispanic, or rural poor (in other words, just about everywhere), that pipeline is automatically assumed to be racist.

Delaware Riverkeeper Given Right to Intervene in DRBC Lawsuit by RINO Judge

RGGIJim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

[Editor’s Note: The Delaware Riverkeeper ran to a RINO judge to secure the right to intervene in a DRBC lawsuit. He rolled over and granted it.]

Apparently, the staff who run the day-to-day business of the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) is incompetent and can’t defend itself. Every time they are challenged in court, they run crying to mommy and daddy (Teresa Heinz Kerry at the Heinz Endowments and Shawn McCaney at the William Penn Foundation), which in turns launders money (i.e. hires lawyers) through the Delaware Riverkeeper to help bail the DRBC out of legal trouble.

A federal judge (appointed by swamp-dweller George W. Bush) ruled last week to allow Riverkeeper (Heinz & Wm. Penn) to “intervene” (become a party to) a lawsuit launched by Pennsylvania Senate Republicans against the DRBC over the organization’s illegal taking of property rights by banning fracking in the river basin.

Severance Tax Obsessed Tom Wolf Proposes It Yet Again with More Lies

RGGIJim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

[Editor’s Note: If the third time wasn’t the charm, the seventh time is surely dead on arrival for Tom the Trust-Funder Wolf’s severance tax obsession.]

As we reported in January, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (Democrat) has, for the seventh year in a row, introduced a Marcellus-killing severance tax proposal as part of his annual budget proposal. Yesterday Wolf released the details on his latest severance tax abomination. As he has done in years past, Wolf has an excuse why this is the year a severance tax is really really really needed. The excuse this time? To put PA workers back to work.

Heinz Endowments Fools Them All With Another Piece of Junk Science

RGGIJim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

[Editor’s Note: The Heinz Endowments is an elitist enterprise dedicated to fractivism as a report from the Ohio River Valley Institutes demonstrates.]

For the past week or so we’ve spotted stories in the Democrat press (i.e. mainstream news) about a so-called “research report” issued by a front organization for the Heinz Endowments called the Ohio River Valley Institute (ORVI). The ORVI recently released a report that purports to show the fracking miracle in the Marcellus/Utica hasn’t actually created all that many jobs or economic benefits. Here’s the first tip this report is a scam and a sham: The lead researcher from the so-called ORVI doesn’t live in the Ohio River Valley nor anywhere near the M-U, he’s a playwright who lives thousands of miles away on the Left Coast, in Washington State. In other words, the report is fiction.

Democrats Also Oppose Tom Wolf’s Idiotic Severance Tax

RGGIJim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

[Editor’s Note: Four House Democrats from Western Pennsylvania are stating their opposition to Tom Wolf’s seventh attempt to impose a severance tax!]

As we reported two weeks ago, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (Democrat) has, for the seventh year in a row, introduced a Marcellus-killing severance tax proposal as part of his annual budget proposal. Just like the six previous years, not only do Republicans think Wolf’s severance tax is a poor idea, so too do some in his own party.
