Gene Yaw Blasts New York and New Jersey for Axing NESE Pipeline

Jim Willis

Pennsylvania State Senator Gene Yaw lays it all out, with unapologetic language; New York and New Jersey governors stuck it to everyone in vetoing NESE.

Pennsylvania State Senator Gene Yaw, a Republican whose district covers portions of central and northeast PA, has his praiseworthy moments. This is one of them. Last week New York’s uber-corrupt Governor, Andrew Cuomo, and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, once again pandered to their radical Democrat base by rejecting a critically needed natural gas pipeline. The Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) pipeline would have flowed PA Marcellus shale gas to New York City and Long Island. Yaw blasted NY and NJ for their rejection using strong language.

Andrew Cuomo Is the Grossest, Most Corrupt Governor in NY’s History

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Andrew Cuomo has killed NESE, a pipeline needed to deliver essential natural gas to the New York metro area. How much more corruption will New Yorkers take?

Is it time to turn the gas off for New York City and let the people there reap the “benefits” of having a dictator, Andrew Cuomo, as their governor? On Friday, the NY Dept. of Environmental Conservation, thoroughly and completely corrupted by Andrew Cuomo, issued yet another rejection for the critically-needed Northeast Supply Enhancement (NESE) pipeline project. It was the last straw for Williams, the builder of the project, which has walked away from the project. Gas customers on Long Island, including parts of NYC, now face the real prospect of running out of natural gas (this is not an exaggeration). Andrew Cuomo is the grossest, most corrupt governor in NY’s history.

AFL-CIO Takes on Tom Wolf for Selling Out Labor to Greens

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Tom Wolf seems focused on alienating every last working person in Pennsylvania in signaling his green virtues to gentry class peers. The AFL-CIO has had it.

It becomes more obvious every day that the rank and file (even the leaders) of trade unions are breaking with their Democrat Party bosses over issues like insane taxes on natural gas. The divide is particularly acute in blue states like Pennsylvania, which voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and likely will again in 2020 because the Dems keep shooting themselves in the head with stupid taxes and regulations that kill jobs. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO issued a statement yesterday thanking the Pennsylvania Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee, part of the Dept. of Environmental Protection, for listening to the union’s concerns about Gov. Wolf’s proposed carbon tax at a recent hearing.

Rule Out RGGI, Bi-Partisan Group of PA Legislators Tell Tom Wolf

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Tom Wolf, Gov. Condescension, is pushing RGGI during a health crisis he helped create and a bi-partisan group of legislators is saying no and fighting back.

We previously told you about Gov. Wolf’s executive order (EO) to force Pennsylvania to join with northeastern states in the so-called Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a regional alliance to slap a carbon tax on coal and natural gas-fired electric plants in order to force them out of business. Eighteen Pennsylvania State Senators sent a letter to Wolf on April 21 asking him to withdraw his EO. On Tuesday, a group of 58 House members, including 10 Democrats, sent a similar letter to Wolf requesting the same thing.

Hydrogen Technology May Turn Gas Green and Fractivists Red with Rage

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Jim explores and projects the reaction to technology that will separate hydrogen from natural gas without releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere!

A partnership between Penn State EMS Energy Institute researchers and a Pittsburgh-based start-up company may hold the answer to reducing so-called greenhouse gas emissions while also paving the way to disrupt the chemical and material industries. The collaboration has resulted in several research projects that aim to “reinvent” both coal and natural gas as clean, cost-effective sources of fuels and high-performance materials.

Tom Ridge Shows Us Why He Was Such An Awful Governor

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Jim says perfectly expresses my views on Tom Ridge, who was a pitiful governor responsible for turning DEP and the DRBC into monsters, especially the latter.

We have no use for so-called establishment Republicans who claim to be “conservative.” They’re liars, and chief among them is former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge. Yesterday Ridge published an op-ed in the left-of-Communist Mao Zedong, “The Atlantic” magazine, on “Earth Day,” to attack the Republican Party. Ridge says he’s a conservative Republican (he’s not) and he targets his own party for “abandoning environmental issues.” Ridge decries the party’s quest to fix the ultra-radical lunacy of recent years. Shame on Tom Ridge. Has he (finally) gone senile?

Supreme Court to Take PennEast Pipeline Case? Let’s Hope So!

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Jim says Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development a/k/a DCED is treating the Mariner East project to an Abbot and Costello routine.

We see a very positive sign that the U.S. Supreme Court is potentially interested in accepting and ruling on a case of tremendous importance to the oil and gas industry.

The case is PennEast Pipeline v State of New Jersey. New JerseyNew Jersey is attempting to block the PennEast project by denying it access to run across tracts of land either owned or controlled by the state, claiming federal eminent domain authority does not apply to state-owned land. New Jersey won the case in lower courts and PennEast appealed it all the way to the Supremes, who have now taken an active interest. No, they haven’t officially accepted the case…yet. But they have just signaled a strong interest.

Pennsylvania DCED Does Abbot and Costello Routine with Mariner East

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Jim says Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development a/k/a DCED is treating the Mariner East project to an Abbot and Costello routine.

Remember that old Abbott and Costello comedy routine, “Who’s on First?” That aptly describes what appears to be happening at the Pennsylvania Dept. of Community and Economic Development (DCED). PA Gov. Tom Wolf issued an edict several weeks ago that bans businesses from working unless they appear on a list of “life-sustaining” activities, in an effort to halt the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Companies can apply for a waiver if they’re not on the life-sustaining list. The DCED is in charge (if you can call it that) of reviewing and issuing the waivers.

Yesterday, the DCED issued waivers to Energy Transfer to button up some final bits of work on the Mariner East 2 (ME2) pipeline project in several locations near Philadelphia. A few hours later DCED rescinded/pulled those waivers. What’s going on?

DRBC, Corrupt and Mad with Power, Gives the Heisman to FERC

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

This post from last week on Marcellus Drilling News perfectly captures the captivity of the DRBC by special interests together with its mad pursuit of power.

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) has been co-opted by Big Green groups to do their bidding. The latest example is a letter sent by DRBC to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), arrogantly telling FERC that the DRBC has the power to review the PennEast Pipeline project–to pass judgment on whether or not (and how) it gets built. That authority lies solely with FERC.

PennEast and Adelphia Get Boost from Delaware PovertyKeeper

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

The PennEast and Adelphia pipeline projects are, of course, opposed by the Delaware PovertyKeeper and company, but their facts support the two projects.

After we picked ourselves up off the floor from laughing so hard, it dawned on us the far-left radicals at THE Delaware Riverkeeper, Clean Air Council and PennFuture have done both the PennEast Pipeline and Adelphia Gateway pipeline projects a huge beneficial service.

Those three nutty groups commissioned and have just released a new “study” (copy below) that uses data to show PennEast and Adelphia together, when (not if) they get built, will mean that Pennsylvania drillers have to drill and connect another 1,913 to 3,061 new shale wells to feed them. Well, duh! Of course it means that!! And that’s a great thing for all of the Commonwealth. More economic stimulus. More jobs. More tax revenues flowing to local municipalities. Do these groups know they’ve just handed us a new argument in favor of these pipeline?
