More Distortion from StateImpactPA

John Quigley - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone

 ….

There is no end to the bias that comes from StateImpactPA, revealed again in an article about oil and gas industry air emissions. StateImpactPA is a fractivist shill.

StateImpactPA continues to distort the facts on natural gas. That’s what the Heinz Endowments and William Penn Foundation pay them to do. If I sound like  broken record on that point, I can’t help it. They keep playing the same song over and over again, with little attention to detail, a whole lot of bias and, always, always, quotes from their sister fractivist shill groups. They know exactly what they’re doing and John Hanger caught them at it last week. The story today, though, is what they’re doing to distort the air emissions record of the industry. Pennsylvania’s DEP hasn’t helped either.

John Hanger Takes on StateImpactPA! Shots Fired!

John Quigley - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone
Shepstone Management Company, Inc.

 ….

UPDATED – SEE BELOW!….

John Hanger, the former DEP Secretary for Pennsylvania, has taken on StateImpactPA in a very smart way and exposed their bias. Bravo!

I have many disagreements with John Hanger but he’s just done something wonderful. He’s gone after StateImpactPA for spinning a false narrative about hydraulic fracturing.  He did it on Twitter and got them to acknowledge the funding that drives their reporting. He also got them to admit their definition of fracking includes drilling. That’s the only way they can claim it’s ever impacted water to any degree.

The Center for Health, Environment and Justice Isn’t

John Quigley - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone

 ….

….

The Center for Health, Environment and Justice illustrates all that is wrong with much of fractivism. It’s ego on steroids, financed by special interests.

A reader forwarded me an e-mail he received the other day from a group known as the the Center for Health, Environment and Justice. It offered “a free training call with Protect Our Children on how to raise awareness of the risks to our kids’ health from fracking.” It provides no evidence of any harm, of course, but promises information on “how to organize and raise awareness about the potential harm to our kids of fracking.” It’s an appeal to emotion, in other words – another phony plea on behalf of “the children.” This is the sort of tactic always employed by community organizers and demagogues. The Center for Health, Environment and Justice plays both roles and does little for the children.

PennFuture Plutocrats Target Rural PA Community

John Quigley - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone
Shepstone Management Company, Inc.

 ….

….

PennFuture, a tool of the Heinz Endowments and William Penn Foundation, is targeting rural communities as part of a fractivist legal strategy.

A fascinating little letter to the editor appeared in the Washington County Observer-Reporter the other day. It was from some folks in Mount Pleasant Township, Washington County.  These folks criticized Range Resources, a “Texas-headquartered gas company” for suggesting PennFuture, which is suing the Township, was an outside, special-interest group that did not have our community’s interests at heart. They then went on to argue “PennFuture has provided free legal help to individuals, sportsmen’s groups, and conservation organizations throughout Pennsylvania.”

These four correspondents said PennFuture had “responded to our request for assistance because we are concerned about the effects of drilling on our community, and want a serious discussion about how we intend to regulate it.” Really? Well, look, I’m not from Mount Pleasant Township either, but I have done consulting work in Washington County. Also, as a land use planner, I know something about zoning. And, I know PennFuture.

The Stakeholder Partnerships Used to Thwart Our Dreams

Bob NolanBob Nolan
Wayne County, Pennsylvania, Landowner

….

….

“Stakeholder partnerships,” “broad partnerships” and other groups of elitists are colluding to thwart every economic opportunity we have in rural America.

Tom wrote an interesting story yesterday about “The Brazen Lies Being Peddled by the William Penn Foundation.” One of the links he provided was to a descriptive brochure about the Delaware Watershed Initiative and its approach. Intrigued by what these elitists were up to, I decided to check it out a little further. What I found and I didn’t find tells a lot about what these people plan for us. They hope to smash every economic dream we have.

The Brazen Lies Being Peddled by the William Penn Foundation

Natural Gas NOW

The William Penn Foundation, inextricably linked with the Rockefeller family, is telling some lies about water to further their special interests.

The upper region of the Delaware River basin is threatened. It’s not threatened by development but, rather, by very wealthy special interests peddling outright lies about water quality. These special interests, which include the Haas family (Philadelphia) and the Rockefellers, want to make a wilderness of this region. They’re spending hundreds of millions of dollars to scare people into giving it to them. They’re also targeting natural gas with their scare tactics; it being the one thing that could derail their scheme.

StateImpactPA Shills for Fractivist Lobby Groups

State Impact - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone
Natural Gas NOW

…

StateImpactPA, funded by Pennsylvania’s gentry class fractivists, is shilling for a fractivist lobbying group that diverts attention by…attacking lobbying.

Nothing is more predictable in fractivist journalism than the regular reports from Common Cause, a fractivist lobbying group funded by other fractivist lobbying groups, attacking lobbying by the oil and gas industry. It’s the phoniest schtick around and StateImpactPA just as predictably spreads it around, essentially serving as the PR outlet for Common Cause. The latest example of this shilling is this report from StateImpactPA hyping an “analysis” claiming “Pennsylvania’s gas drillers…spent $55.9 million on lobbying since 2007.” while ignoring the lobbying of fractivist groups such as itself and not even bothering to get the opinion of anyone with a different perspective.

PennFuture Pilfers from Pennsylvania Taxpayers

John Quigley - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone
Shepstone Management Company, Inc.

 ….

….

One member of the PennFuture insurgency still remains in Pennsylvania government after 18 months and she’s busy pilfering from taxpayers to aid a radical agenda.

It’s now been 17 months since I wrote about the PennFuture insurgency with regard to the efforts of the Heinz Endowments and William Penn Foundation, the elite members of Pennsylvania’s gentry class, to run Pennsylvania government under Governor Tom Wolf.

Since then, in that brief time, one of the three members of that insurgency, John Hanger, the former head of PennFuture and DEP as well as Wolf’s Policy Director, resigned after the severance tax he designed crashed and burned (it was so bad even fellow Democrats couldn’t support it).

Another, John Quigley, who moved from Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to PennFuture and back into government as Secretary of DEP under Wolf, self-immolated in a fit of filthy anger fueled by his contempt for legislators who didn’t share his zealotry.

Now, it turns out the third member of thePennFuture triumvirate has been pilfering from Pennsylvania taxpayers to fund the attendance of her staff at a conclave of fractivists and other radicals put on by the Keystone Research Center, a public employee union hit squad.

PennFuture’s Man John Quigley Resigns from DEP

John Quigley - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone
Shepstone Management Company, Inc.

 ….

….

John Quigley, Tom Wolf’s DEP Secretary and one of three PennFuture activists put in charge of Pennsylvania’s energy policy has resigned in ignominy.

When Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf said he wanted John Quigley to be his new Secretary for the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) I asked which John Quigley we were talking about – the humorless environmental activist and consultant from PennFuture or the pragmatic administrator with the business background? I suggested the former DCNR Secretary who had previously left to do William Penn Foundation dirty work at PennFuture displayed a split personality in that regard; stating we’d have to wait until the real John Quigley stood up, hoping he was telling the truth to the senators who unfortunately confirmed him.

He has, in fact, now stood up and resigned after a little more than a year in office, the real John Quigley having exposed himself in e-mails as the man sent into DEP to sabotage it and impose the environmental extremism espoused by him and his true believer friends.

The PennEast Hassle: Frivolous Is As Frivolous Does

shel cracker - Jim Willis reportsJim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

….

There is a deliberate effort by the William Penn Foundation and its surrogates to launch frivolous attacks on the PennEast Pipeline: the PennEast Hassle.

A couple of radical fractivist groups, aided and abetted by a few landowners (members of said groups) have filed a frivolous lawsuit on Monday in New Jersey Superior Court against PennEast Pipeline claiming surveyors have illegally trespassed on private property to conduct surveys–against the wishes of said radicals, some of whom happen to be landowners in the path of the proposed pipeline.

PennEast Pipeline is a $1 billion, 118-mile pipeline project that will run from near Wilkes-Barre, PA to near Trenton, NJ. The two groups behind this latest sleazy lawsuit are Homeowners Against Land Taking – PennEast Inc. (HALT PennEast) and the New Jersey Conservation Foundation.
