WNBF Protects Fractivist Organizer Walter Hang?

landowners and laborers - Vic FurmanVictor Furman
Upstate New York Landowner Shale Gas Activist at NYRAD-R

….
….

Walter Hang is a paid fractivist organizer for the Park and Rockefeller families – New York’s gentry class – and he’s being protected by the press.

Walter Hang is fractivist shill for some very rich people who want to starve Upstate New York out of existence. They not only don’t want any fracking; they’re against even bringing natural gas to the region. They want to stop pipelines. They are using Walter Hang to manipulate public opinion and co-op our legislators. The press, meanwhile, protects him.

The Rockefeller Family Special Interests Behind the RICO Scam

Natural Gas NOW

Rockefeller family special interests have been at the core of fractivism, the divestment movement and so much else that is wrong with our energy policy.

It is now clear the RICO scam that has engulfed numerous academics and several attorneys general was instigated by the Rockefeller family. They manipulated everyone into going after Exxon, which was a scheme just a little too perfectly poetic to pull off without getting caught. The lure of the whole ginned up story was that the connections between the family and the promotion of the “Exxon knew” theme, a matter that might normally be expected to raise eyebrows and questions, was submerged in the irony of the situation. What reporter would ask why the family was so involved, when they could write headlines about the irony of Rockefellers challenging big oil and ExxonMobil, in particular, it being the  descendant of Standard Oil?

As it turned out, though, it was too cute by half and it’s now all coming out drip by drip as Energy In Depth and others are pulling back the curtain and revealing the wizards behind the whole scam. What’s still missing, though, is the explanation of exactly what those Rockefeller family special interests really are.

We Are Seneca Lake: Recruiter of Useful Idiots

We are seneca lakeDavid Crea
Process, Energy & Reliability Engineer, Watkins Glen, NY
(David Crea is employed by US Salt but speaks here for himself only)

 ….

The ongoing saga of “The Locals” versus “The Ithacans” as arrest data-analysis reveals much about arrestees, and tells us why ‘We Are Seneca Lake” is no more than a recruiter of new useful idiots.

As any student of culture can attest, there is far more than 20 miles distance and a few hills and dales that separate the Village of Watkins Glen from its eastern neighbor at Ithaca, New York. The cultural gulf that separates those who people the two areas is an insurmountable chasm. The east shore of Seneca Lake is a clear demarcation line.

Put most simply from my own cultural observations, it is “folks who work, do business, and mind their own business” that inhabit the western side of this chasm, and I will designate them herein as “The Locals.”

Bill McKibben and Trial Lawyer Friends Flirt with Violence

350.org - Tom Shepstone ReportsTom Shepstone

….
….

There may be no bigger phony among fractivists than Bill McKibben, who continues to flirt with extremists and violence aided by his trial lawyer friends.

Bill McKibben loves white sheet cowards who flirt with violence, while extolling non-violent “direct action” and “rebellion,” a fact we noted in an earlier post. Rockefeller front groups such as 350.org and the Sustainable Markets Foundation, where trial lawyer and Fractivist Rasputin Jay Halfon fund the dirty work through the back door. As we noted at the time, they “fire up the true believers with the fervor of religious environmentalism and then pat them on the back from a distance for jobs well done.” Now, Bill McKibben is at it again, rewarding a group known as “Beyond Extreme Energy” with his tweet of approval for what is the work of a clearly extremist group. Fracking Is Here To Stay – Get Over It!

Fracking – Marita-Noon-4-160x160Marita Noon
Executive Director – Energy Makes America Great Inc.

….
….

The Colorado Supreme Court just embraced the rule of law, rejecting the fear mongering of fracking opponents. It’s now time for fractivists to get over it.

On Monday, May 2 the Colorado Supreme Court ruled on what the New York Times (NYT) called: “a lengthy battle for energy production.” The court’s unanimous decision to strike down two cities’ limits on fracking is a victory for oil-and-gas companies and a “disappointment” to anti-fossil-fuel activists. Several states, including Colorado’s neighbors, New Mexico and Texas, have faced similar anti-oil-and-gas initiatives that have also been shot down. It’s time for fractivists to accept fracking is here to stay and to just get over it.

The Lobbying Lie That Just Won’t Go Away

Fracking Lobby Sham - Tom Shepstone reportsTom Shepstone
Natural Gas NOW

…

There’s a big lie that just won’t go away. It’s the lobbying lie perpetrated by fractivists funded by elitist special interest groups with political agendas.

There’s no bigger lie than the lobbying lie repeatedly told by fractivist outfits who spend vastly more themselves under the cover of being non-profit charities. I wrote about this a while back, noting how the Park Foundation, in particular, regularly funded Common Cause to issue reports that spread the lobbying lie and, now, they’re at it again with a report from the “Public Accountability Initiative” funded by Park. The lobbying lie just won’t go away.

More Junk Science: The Duke Housing Study

Climate Witch Trials - Jim Willis reports

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

Duke University, one of the Park Foundation’s pets, has dutifully come out with another study attacking fracking; this time it’s a Duke housing study.

Once or twice a year anti-fossil fuel “researchers” at Duke University issue another “publish or perish” term paper taking aim at the Marcellus/Utica Shale and call it a study. A few weeks ago the latest in a string of such biased reports was issued by Duke – this one claiming property values go down when Marcellus Shale drilling comes to a community. The Duke housing study is just one more example of how news is manufactured for use in the fractivist echo chamber created by the Park Foundation and friends.

NY Fractivists Block Seneca Lake Facility

Climate Witch Trials - Jim Willis reports

Jim Willis
Editor & Publisher, Marcellus Drilling News (MDN)

A group of NY Fractivists dressed up as Santa and the Grinch and danced around to block the Seneca Lake Facility claiming fossil fuels are “naughty.”

We’ve written many stories over the past few years about anti-drilling zealots who oppose the plan to convert a depleted salt cavern owned by Crestwood Equity Partners (nee Crestwood Midstream) along the shore of Seneca Lake, in Schuyler County, NY, to store liquefied petroleum gas (i.e. propane).

The protests are typically a dozen people or less and often organized by Sandra Steingraber, a minor celebrity in fractivist circles. Steingraber is a so-called “scholar in residence” at Ithaca College. They pay her to do nothing but trot around making anti-fracking speeches, no doubt funded with money from the Park Foundation. How to Produce Gas Drilling Headlines from Nothing

PennFuture - Tom ShepstoneTom Shepstone
Natural Gas NOW

Making gas drilling headlines requires no more than some speculation wrapped in the impenetrable gobbledy-gook language of academia and someone to report it.

We have a perfect example of how negative gas drilling headlines are made in a recent story that appeared in the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Citizens Voice. It’s illustrative of how fractivism works, even when the parties delivering it are largely innocent, which is precisely why it’s so nefarious. All that is required is something academic that raises a question, someone to report it and someone in an editor’s office to craft the catchy gas drilling headlines. No real evidence is required and, in fact, it would only serve to cloud the issue, as the point is to suggest the “can,” the “could” and the “may.” Throw in hard data and all those possibilities get watered down – better to stick to the speculation.

Is That All There Is, Tom Wilber?

PennFuture - Tom ShepstoneTom Shepstone
Natural Gas NOW

Tom Wilber has now completed his “The Promise of Fracking: Lessons from Pennsylvania” series and we’re left saying “Is that all there is, Tom?”

When I reviewed the first part of the new Tom Wilber series here, I introduced it with this overview:

The death of real journalism and the rise of advocacy journalism is marked not so much by what is said but, rather, by what is not said. That is Tom Wilber.

Now, all three segments have been published (Part 1Part 2Part 3) and we’ve had additional observations from Johnny Williams as well as an in-depth analysis by Nicole Jacobs over at Energy In Depth and we’ve all concluded the same thing; it’s what’s been left out that’s important to this series. But, there’s another troubling aspect as well. The series is nothing but a rehash of old accusations, long ago rendered false or irrelevant, by a newspaper reporter from the advocacy school of journalism, who thought he could make his name writing a book that recycled his old fracking stories, only to find himself back at the same newspaper, regurgitating them yet again. After reading the whole thing, I can only ask if that’s all there is.
